I work as a professional counsellor, group facilitator and workshop presenter at Relationships Australia . I have experience in counselling couples, individuals, and children. At mensplace I facilitate men’s groups like Anger Management, Sex and Intimacy and Communication Skills.

One of my main interests is in helping men be more proactive in taking care of themselves both physically and emotionally.

I also have a special interest in men’s advocacy. I feel that modern men are constantly facing difficult issues that challenge our masculine identity. I believe that these challenges can offer us the opportunity to grow and expand our definitions of what it means to be a man.

I completed my Bachelor of Counselling degree at Notre Dame University in 2008 and have also completed post graduate studies in Narrative Therapy.

In the third year of my studies I began working as a facilitator in men’s domestic violence groups (mandated) and have been working in this program ever since. This enables me to work in a range of areas and capacities including case management, behaviour change and risk assessment, as well as individual work with clients.

I have been working in the mensplace program at the Midland branch since January 2015.

Following voluntary experience in youth and community work I trained as a teacher in the UK and have taught at all levels from primary to tertiary.

My experience in Australia has included working with migrant and Aboriginal groups on vocational education training courses while based at Edith Cowan University.

Since moving to Albany I have worked mainly with trainees and apprentices helping them access and complete training.

I am interested in all aspects of men’s health and well-being.
